Services Are The New Handshake

As small business people we can all agree that starting a relationship with a Web designer or developer can be an expensive proposition in time and money. As the client you spend hours building a comprehensive RFP, researching potential agencies and submitting your project. On the other side of the table the proposed agency may spend days building proposals and speck work for contracts that may have been submitted out of curiosity. All of this work gets done before we know anything about each other, we have never even had a handshake.

Overstock’s Paradigm Changing Redesign

Overstock may have just changed the ecommerce game on us. They have released a major redesign that uses search as the primary navigational metaphor. Such a brilliant move and I think users are actually ready for it. I believe this redesign will serve as a paradigm shift in the online shopping metaphor. It will be interesting to see how this move plays out. Have a look at the new overstock.com

Ever since last months iPhone debut at Macworld (if you missed it you can view it at apple.com) there has been a buzz brewing over the power of simple. Simple is focusing on a small idea and executing that idea flawlessly. Simplicity is what makes Apple such a great success story however simple isn′t for everyone it seems.
